Pepin
This is Jose Peralta, he is 41 years old and has lived in the neighborhood all his life. His father, Vicente, died when he was 14. Even though his mother Lola and his 4 siblings were still at home, he preferred to be in the street with his friends. Which is where they introduced him to drugs. He lived a life chasing those drugs until earlier this year when his mother died and his family moved out of the neighborhood. He chose to stay and live in the street. His mom called him Jose but we all know him as Pepin.
A few months ago a child came running to Amigo Fiel asking for help for Pepin. He was having problems with his foot where he had been injecting drugs, he was about to lose a few toes. Thank God, we were able to get him to the hospital for treatment. Sadly, he lost some toes but he is still here with us.
We are thankful God put Amigo Fiel in his path to get him to the hospital to help with his body but also because we were able to help him check into a rehabilitation center. This is when we started to see a new Pepin. You see, this was a Christian rehabilitation center that not only helped him with his addiction but shared Christ with him. Healing his body and his soul. With God’s help, we are seeing him be made new. We think this is a beautiful testimony of what Christ can do in our lives.

Su nombre es José Peralta, nació el 19 de Marzo, tiene 41 años pero en la Col. Ricardo Flores Magón, todos los conocemos como Pepin. Pepin es el 2do.hijo de Doña Lola, quien tuvo 5 hijos. Su papá Vicente Peralta falleció cuando tenía 14 años y los amigos que conoció en ese tiempo, lo involucraron en las drogas. Por un tiempo se quedó a vivir con su mamá, aunque prefería estar en las calles. Hace unos meses ella falleció, y sus hermanos cerraron la casa, y Pepin, se quedó viviendo en unas tapias.
Hace aproximadamente dos meses, un niño de la cuadra, se acercó corriendo a Amigo Fiel, pidiendo ayuda para Pepin, ya que se le había caído un dedo del pie, lo tenía muy lastimado a causa de las drogas que se estaba inyectando, y ha estado a punto de perderlo.
Gracias a Dios que de manera oportuna, Amigo Fiel lo llevó al hospital y ha sido atendido, además de que se le instaló en un Centro de Rehabilitación y ha estado mejorando bastante, se empieza a ver un Pepin diferente. Este Centro de Rehabilitación es Cristiano, así que su corazón también está siendo sanado, y con la ayuda de Dios, podrá convertirse en una criatura nueva, siendo testimonio de lo que Cristo puede hacer en nuestras vidas.
Gracias por orar por Pepin y por apoyar a Amigo Fiel para que podamos seguir prestando servicios en Ciudad Juárez cuando Dios presente oportunidades como esta.
