A good education gives children the foundation they need to stay out of trouble and to one day go on to college and be able to support a family.
The need
Many children in Juarez want to go to school but face multiple obstacles that keep them from receiving a much needed education. A good education gives children the foundation they need to stay out of trouble and to one day go on to college and be able to support a family.
Many children have only one parent in the home or are being raised by a grandparent. Caregivers often work long hours to support their families but it still isn't enough to pay for the required supplies children must have to attend school.
What we do
We believe no child in our community should have to drop out of school simply because they cannot afford the fees. Since 2013, Amigo Fiel has provided scholarships for children in the community to purchase the supplies they need so they can receive an education.
The annual cost for school ranges from $100 for Kindergarten to $350 for college. Over the years, our generous partners have provided numerous scholarships for children through the ministry of Amigo Fiel. These kids have not only finished high school but have gone on to get college degrees. We recently celebrated our first law school graduate!
The impact
Every faithful donor who provides a scholarship for a child or teenager in Juarez is making a tangible difference that will lead to lasting impact in their surrounding neighborhood and beyond. We are incredibly thankful for every scholarship provided so far.
