The need
For children who are exposed to hunger and violence on a regular basis, it can be difficult to focus on school.
Without a good education, there is little hope for this generation to break the cycle of poverty in their family. For these kids to truly have a chance at a different life, it starts with education.
What we do
We believe one of the greatest ways to make a lasting impact in the city of Juarez is by providing at-risk kids a welcoming environment that promotes learning.
Every day at Amigo Fiel, we serve an average of 55 school-age kids by giving them a safe and structured place to grow and learn after school. Children receive help with homework and a hot meal daily. Our goal is to nourish children not only physically but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually as well. In addition to homework help, children participate in playtime, arts and crafts activities, music, mentoring, and a character development study based on God's Word.
